Four weeks ago, we discussed the Start Node in the Flexfer CRM: Workflow Basics blogpost, in which we explained how to properly set up the Start Node that is provided in every Workflow and is essential for the proper functionality of the Workflow.
Back then, we acknowledged that you needed to be especially careful with the wording of the different Variables that would be sent from the endpoint to the Workflow and to make sure that the Variables were properly named.
To help with this, an importing function has recently been released to the public! This importing function is designed to automatically create the necessary Variables and set the workflow up for the Endpoint that was selected.
If we go back to the Start Node of the Workflow that we have been using for these blogposts, we will see that a new button has been made available at the very top:
The Import button has been added to make this functionality easier. When you click on it, you will be sent to a screen that allows you to select from which Endpoint you wish to import the Variables. When you select one of the available Endpoints, your screen will change to show which Variables are available from that Endpoint:
By checking or unchecking the boxes to the right of the variables, you can select which Variables you wish to import. By default, all boxes are checked, but if there is any Variable already defined, it will be unchecked automatically.
After clicking on ‘Ok’, you will automatically be taken back to the Start Node screen, where the variables are immediately set up for you, including their Targets. For these Targets, the Workflow Variables will automatically be set up as well if still necessary. After this import, our Workflow Variables look like this:
We hope that this will increase the ease of use for the Workflow! Next week, we will return to the Workflow Nodes that we are yet to discuss, starting with the Labels and Subscriptions Nodes. These Nodes allow you to assign records to specific Labels and Subscriptions, which will allow for greater Automation flexibility!
